Client: Steep&Deep
Steep&Deep are skiers and outdoor specialists running a shop where they know the gear inside out. The physical shop is the main channel, and that is where the expertise lives. Running it online is its own discipline, and so is the marketing that brings customers to it.
We come in as Steep&Deep's strategic and technical partner to build out both sides. The ecommerce setup that makes the shop run online, and the marketing that keeps the brand visible.
The problem
Steep&Deep have everything that matters in the shop. A team of specialists, a curated range, and customers who come in for advice as much as for the gear. The shop runs on the team's knowledge of skiing and what works.
The online side needs to be brought up to the same standard. The Shopify setup needs the basics in place, with a proper structure, the right integrations, and the tools that make the shop run smoothly online. The marketing needs the same treatment. A consistent way of reaching customers, in line with the brand the shop has already built.
The solution
Our role covers both the strategic side and the technical build.
We start with the strategy. How Steep&Deep should show up online, who they are talking to, and how the digital experience should reflect the brand customers already know from the shop. The shop is the anchor. The online side is built to live up to it.
From there, we rebuild the ecommerce setup. The Shopify structure, the categories, the product setup, and the assortment logic are all reworked to reflect how Steep&Deep actually run the business, with Claude helping us analyse and refine the setup as it goes.
The marketing side runs on the same logic. Campaigns pull from the shop's own data and go out in a consistent voice and visual language. Klaviyo handles delivery, Claude supports the content side, and the whole thing runs without someone having to put each piece together by hand.
The outcome
The ecommerce side now reflects the shop behind it. The brand customers meet online matches the one they meet in person, and the marketing reinforces both. The team can stay focused on what they do best. The gear, the advice, and the people who come in for both.
The work continues. We keep sharpening the setup as Steep&Deep grow and the range evolves.
The point
A great shop does not automatically make a great online presence. Two things have to come together. The setup that runs it online, and the marketing that brings people to it. Both take strategy and the technical work to back it up.
