Client: Pelican Self Storage
Online users carry expectations with them from every other digital experience they have. The booking flow on a self storage site is held up to the same standard as the one on the most polished app they used yesterday. When the experience does not match what they are used to, they leave.
We came on as Pelican Self Storage's technical and strategic partner to find the right booking experience through fast prototyping and real testing, before committing to a full build.
The problem
Online conversions were low, and the booking flow did not meet what customers have come to expect from other digital products, and the local norms around payment were not reflected in the way the experience was set up.
That kind of gap costs in two ways. The booking is lost in the moment, and the brand loses ground because the experience does not feel like it belongs in the same conversation as the digital experiences' customers use every day.
The solution
We started with a small round of consumer interviews to understand where the booking flow was breaking down, and what local expectations the experience had to live up to. From there, we moved into rapid prototyping. v0 and Claude let us build a working replica of the Pelican site with an improved booking flow in days, not months. Figma Make handled the design layer alongside it.
The prototype was real enough to test with, in the local language and on the kinds of devices customers use. That meant the feedback we got was grounded in real behaviour, not assumptions. Each round of testing sharpened the next version, until the booking flow worked the way customers expected it to.
The outcome
Conversions are up, mobile is no longer the weak link, and the brand sits more confidently alongside the other digital experiences customers are used to.
The point
The fastest way to find the right solution is to build something small enough to test, and to test it in the setting where the users will actually use it.
